1.21.4 Updates

Hey folks! As you may know, the server has been undergoing some downtime recently due to changes in location. We held off on announcing it to make sure everything went smoothly, but @heron is now situated on the east coast living with former admin tetchytick!

After a week of driving, we’ve got everything in order, and the server should be going back up sometime before the 17th of March. You may experience a very slight change in connection based on where you are relative to the new location. Our plugins and other software have all been upgraded, so the server will also be updating to Minecraft 1.21.4! Please ensure that, if you have any, you update your mods to their respective versions.

As part of this update, custom wings no longer require a CIT mod (hooray!), but all existing wings and some other custom items will lose their custom texture. You will need to re-collect your wings from the new wings selector we’ve built.

You may remember that tetchy retired from the admin team last year due to college and work business. After discussion with the staff team, she’s taken on the Director subrole (with no parent role attached). This is a bit of a unique case; she will not be carrying out any major server operations like previously as an admin. Because she will be in physical proximity to the server itself, and because of her experience working with the team before, she will have access to the staff channels and resources to keep an eye on server operations. She won’t be frequenting the Discord or Minecraft servers will still be considered effectively retired, but she’ll be helping us with public relations and server management on rare occasions. Heron will still be the primary server host and will continue looking after the tech side of things.

As we approach the 17th, you can monitor the status of the server at status.woftnw.org.

See you soon!
