It’s been a while since the last monthly update (I’m afraid I’d forgotten about them) so here’s a big huge dump of all the stuff that’s happened since the last one!
Sediment Canyon
Sediment Canyon made a comeback! If you’re looking for a new place to set up shop, check the immediate right of “Other Destinations”, directly across from the HTTP teleport. There are suggestions for plots and block palettes, just there to help!
The Summer Flight Festival
After a week of events and activities, the Summer Flight Festival has come to an end. It was a ton of work to put this together, and there were a lot of unexpected changes, but it was a ton of fun to hang out with everyone!
Fall or Fly
Fall damage has been re-enabled! Having flight energy will not prevent fall damage anymore. The flight system saw lots of other minor tweaks to how energy is used as well.
Staff Restructure
We hugely changed how the staff team is structured. Gone is the past Helper/Mod/Admin structure to introduce roles that better encapsulate certain permissions and responsibilities:
- Moderator: Describes staff members that moderate the Minecraft and Discord servers. The moderator role can only be granted once expertise is verified.
- Developer: Describes staff members that work on game development and technical stuff behind the scenes.
- Builder: Describes staff members that work on in-game structures.
- Director: Describes staff members that help manage the team and server going-ons. These staff members are responsible for leading training sessions, ensuring tickets are resolved quickly, scheduling and leading meetings, and tracking ongoing projects.
JMA RP
I hosted a JMA RP event for the first time in forever! We had over 40 participants and a ton of fun.
New Wings
We are also in a frenzy of new wings! Here’s a synopsis of the additions:
- 20 new Hive (27 total)
- 4 new Ice (11 total)
- 20 new Leaf (31 total)
- 12 new Night (23 total)
- 9 new Sand (16 total)
- 13 new Sea (27 total)
- 2 new Silk (18 total)
- 22 new Sky (29 total)
That’s 204 wings total! Wow!
Bundle Ban
There is an item duplication glitch with bundles and we’ve already had two instances of abuse of this exploit. Until the server is updated, we will be disabling bundles.
If you have any bundles stored away, do not touch them. If you put a bundle into your inventory, it will be deleted!
Also… this shouldn’t need a reminder but if you duplicate items you will immediate advance to a suspension if you have not been suspended before and a permanent ban if you have already been suspended.
Halloween Art Contest
In the Discord server, it’s time for our Halloween art contest, where you wonderfully talented artists get to shine! The time to submit your drawings will last from today to the end of October 29, and then voting will be on the 30th, and winners announced on the 31st! We encourage you to participate and have a fun time!
As for rules…
- Art must be original!
- No art may be traced or reused. It must be made specifically for the contest!
- Collaborations are allowed as long as both artists are credited in the submission! We ask that there be no more than teams of 2 though.
- You may only make one submission, and it must be placed in the thread below
- There is no limitations on what you can draw other than it has to be Halloween themed in some way! (Non wof ocs are fine)
Prizes
- First place will get: 25k in-game money and a special pair of Halloween wings
- Second place will get: 15k in-game money and a special pair of Halloween wings
- Third place will get: 10k in-game money and a pair of special Halloween wings
- Participants will get: 1k in-game money and Halloween wings (this includes winners!)
